My first experience with St. Vincent’s Hospital was in 2009 when I did an internship in the DBT day program. I learned a great deal and saw a group of very professional and committed staff trying to help people with borderline personality disorder (not an easy task). People with a mental illness have to be open to recovery for any treatment to work. I volunteer once a month now and still see the same level of caring. I would definitely recommend

I have been referring people to them for years. They are willing to look at everyone and evaluate them. Even without medicaid

I will preface this review by saying that I have not heard the best things about the inpatient program. Also the waiting room in the main intake/emergency (E & R) area made me feel unsafe, and needs at least one security guard watching over it in person. Those are the reasons I am not giving the facility 5 stars. The crisis prevention team were extremely helpful and courteous, and got me seen right away. I was admitted into the partial hospitalization program (and am not ashamed to admit it), so I was not inpatient. Folks who had been in the program a while or had finished it when I came in spoke very highly of it, and it was excellent. I adored my therapist in the program, Caitlin, and all of the therapists (who also acted as group facilitators) were compassionate, caring, professional, and intelligent. The program psychiatrist, Dr. Caneva, treated me with respect and dignity (people who have had a few psychs in their lives may know what I mean) and made decisive choices with my medications so that we were able to stabilize me more quickly than I'd thought plausible. At no point did I feel that I was being treated like a child or like a nutjob. I went in extremely skeptical of the "skills-based" approach to mental health, and after a month I can say this program did more for me than years of traditional talk therapy had done. Thank you to the partial staff, for everything.

I've had the best experience in this hospital working with Diana Garcia, she is a great person and knows how to handle her job. In the future I will be returning back, Diana Garcia is the perfect example of a great employee and how to provide great service.

Sure going to an inpatient is going to be extremely DIFFICULT, When we walk through those doors its evident that we've hit rock bottom and likely DON"T want to be there. That being said after attending St. Vincent's inpatient program for 21 days and then following up treatment with Outpatient Addiction Recovery Service (OARS) I can now say with deep admiration that These programs SAVED my life, Prior to when I first arrived, every night i'd pray not to wake up.. I did'nt want to live, I found no meaning to the life I was "living" but I now can say with conviction that St Vincent's SAVED AND GAVE ME BACK A LIFE I TOOK FOR FORTUNE. The staff was compassionate and truly WILL help you if YOU ARE WILLING TO T R Y to help yourself and CHANGE. They fill the day with exercises and groups that are interactive and expressive of ones true self and the counselours actually take the time to KNOW and HELP you. SHOUTOUTS TO SIR JOHN RUBEN, TREVOR QUINONES AND LESLIE!

My care at St Vincents has been exceptional. Once admitted to the Partial Hospital Program I received an evaluation from Psychiatrist Dr. Whikehart and therapist Jennifer Nikou. Thereafter, Mariane, Allan, Milton and the other team members worked with myself and other patients in group settings based on a number of relevant topics presented in a respectful, compassionate setting where participation is encouraged and a guided presentation of the materials is offered. I highly recommend the services offer by this world class facilty.
